WordPress MU, I had some time ago already been presented (WordPress MU entry and applications). For WordPress MU, there are an extension named Buddy Press. This is actually a collection of plugins and other extensions, which are entered WordPress MU.

With Buddy, they can press an existing WordPress MU installation easy in a social network transformation.

For a long time is already a beta 1 for Buddy Press published. What Buddy Press in precise, as it builds up and what you can use it, I would describe in this paper.

To Buddy Press to use, you need an existing WordPress MU installation, which is almost as quick and easy runs like a normal version of WordPress. The only difference: With an installation, you can create multiple blogs. When Buddy Press is basically just a collection of plugins for WordPress, which will provide features, which you have a social network can create. Some features include Extended Profiles, which the user information about themselves in order to provide, so as for the well-known social networks. Moreover, everyone has the opportunity to create your own blog, and every member to send private messages.

As with any social network you can be friends or other groups to form or in such a way. It is also possible that each user has a guestbook, where others what to write or you can also upload photos is not a problem.

The use of Buddy Press, I have already mentioned several times, but mainly it as a social network thought to be.

With Buddy Press Automattic still has a “good horse in the stable”, because although it was some social networks in USA and in the world, these markets are still not very developed. It would provide, for example, a social network to a specific topic. Currently there are more general age-based networks or social networks. It would be offering a social network on car them. Therefore, I BuddyMarks Press good future chances.

How many visitors my blog? From where do they come from? These and other questions are often intended to provide. However, there is enough analysis tools which these and other questions.

There are both free and paid website tracker. In the first part, I would like to etracker, Google Analytics and Anormal tracker blog entries and to counter. In the second part, I then a few WordPress plugins imagine, which also include the visitors.

1. etracker

etracker is probably the No. 1 in the visitor analysis. There are a lot of information and also are likely to all visitors analyzed, since you do not like Google Analytics is based on JavaScript, but other technologies are used.

Very good is that you can test etracker and later at a better rate can change. Anyone with more information about its visitors want to know, should go to etracker.

2. Google Analytics

Google Analytics gets steadily new webmasters and offers many features similar etracker. However, as already described above, the JavaScript script on base. Visitors who have JavaScript turned off, are not tracked.

About Google Analytics I had ever written: Google Analytics – A free and comprehensive analysis tool.

3. Anormal Tracker

Although not as well known as the first two, Google Analytics and etracker, but it is definitely recommended. Anormal Tracker is free and without advertising. You can submit requests itself. You’ll find information such as visitors today, yesterday, visitors per month, search engines, search terms, the operating system and much more. Also found on the page “Latest Visitors” who is online, what pages each visitor has viewed the operating system it uses and much more.

Moreover, the entire data also via download or you get the weekly number of visitors sent.

The only drawback:

For performance reasons, for ALL showing only the data from the last 3000 visitors used!

4. Blog Counter

Very interesting is Blog Counter. While this is not as much information as the other three, this is the blog button very well done.

* The following features Blog Counter:
* Counter picture in the “Blog” button-style ”
* Detailed Zugriffslog
* Graphical daily and monthly statistics
* Sub-page analysis
* Detailed referer statistics
* Keyword Analysis (search engines)
* Easy to integrate counter-code (copy & paste)

Further free counters can also be found on my page counters and counters. ”

WordPress Plugins

There are also WordPress Plugins that analyze visitors.

WordPress.com Stats

With this plugin, you get the wesentlichtesten information about their visitors. Information is available HERE.

However, you need to activate this plugin an API key, you receive when you log in to WordPress.com.

The special thing about Wassup is the real-time tracking. That is what visitors are online. In addition, you get many features and can be adapted to their needs. Accordingly, the great plugin. Is unpacked is almost 900 kB in size.

StatPress

Another plug-in for tracking of visitors is StatPress. A few screenshots can be found HERE. Moreover StatPress also available in German and can block IPs, which will not be internalized. On the homepage of StatPress for more information.

Other plugins

There are many more. Just look at the plugin page the day after Statistics.
Conclusion

As you can see there are many statistical tools. I hope this paper gave you some help in deciding what their statistics tool for your site can use. Furthermore, this is a qualitative contribution and not as previously only quantitative, and short contributions.
